Converting tape files to 8 bit sound files


It is possible to convert a tape file to a headerless 48000 Hz stereo unsigned 8 bit sound file; this format is better supported by sound editing and playback software than the 1 bit format used by the emulator. The conversion can be done with the following command (conv1to8 can be found in the tapeutil directory of the emulator sources):

conv1to8 < tapefile > soundfile
